Nominate a local neighborhood hero and we will shine the spotlight on them on the 21st of each month.

Nominators must submit a nomination between the January 21, 2021 – December 3, 2021 through the below entry form. One neighborhood hero will be chosen from all entries submitted at random each month to have the spotlight shown on them.

These unsung heroes can be anyone in our neighborhood community that does incredible things every day and puts others before themselves, all while keeping a positive glowing attitude. If you know someone who makes an impact on the community though their work or through philanthropy and who sets an example for those around them, nominate them today.

Nominate a local neighborhood hero and we will shine the spotlight on them on the 21st of each month.

Nominators must submit a nomination between the promotional period (January 21, 2021-December 3, 2021) through the unique website and complete the form. One neighborhood hero will be chosen from all entries submitted at random each month to have the spotlight shown on them. Spotlight winners will be notified prior to the announcement to confirm details.

These unsung heroes can be anyone in our neighborhood community that does incredible things every day and puts others before themselves, all while keeping a positive glowing attitude. If you know someone who makes an impact on the community though their work or through philanthropy and who sets an example for those around them, nominate them today.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. No purchase necessary to enter or to win the Neighborhood Hero Spotlight Award (the “Contest”). All Federal, State, Local and Municipal Laws and Regulations Apply. Void where prohibited.
2. Eligible Nominees must both be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older and legally reside in Michigan as of the date of entry in this contest.
3. Nominations can be made from January 21, 2021 at 9:00AM EST until December 3, 2021 at 11:00PM EST by means of online submissions using the form at TheVORH.com and submitting the following materials: 
   1. Nominator’s contact information including their full name, phone number and email address.
   2. Nominee’s contact information including their full name, phone number, email address, city their work/volunteer, and city they reside.
   3. A short essay describing why the Nominator would like to nominate the Nominee for the Neighborhood Hero Spotlight Award.
      1. Nominators must not nominate themselves
      2. Nominators are not eligible to win or receive a prize in this Contest
   4. By submitting an essay and nomination form to The Village of Rochester Hills, each Nominator authorizes The Village of Rochester Hills to post such essay and/or Nominator’s and Nominee’s names to The Village of Rochester Hills website, social media pages and at the monthly Neighborhood Celebration event.
      1. The Village of Rochester Hills reserves the right to edit an essay in its sole discretion. Not all essays will be posted to The Village of Rochester Hills website and/or social media pages.
   5. It is the Nominator’s responsibility prior to entering this Contest to obtain the consent of the nominee to The Village of Rochester Hills reading/posting the Nominator’s nomination with respect to the Nominee’s or other person’s name and or other personal information about the nominee or other person that nominator may elect to include in such essay. By entering this contest, nominators agree to identify and hold harmless The Village of Rochester Hills and its affiliated companies and sponsors from and again any claim by persons relating to the content of the essay submitted by the Nominator.
   6. The Village of Rochester Hills will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender or The Village of Rochester Hills.
4. By submitting a Nomination, Nominators and Nominees understand and agree that The Village of Rochester Hills may elect to use any submitted Nomination for entertainment purposes on-air. Nominators and Nominees waive any right to make claims against The Village of Rochester Hills, or any Contest sponsor with respect to any disparaging comment made on-air about a Nomination submitted by a Nominator, or in which the Nominee was the subject.
5. Essays submitted as Nominations in this Contest must be original works created by the person submitting the Nomination.
6. Failure to submit all of the above items in one submission / Nomination will result in disqualification.
7. Whether or not selected as a Winner, all entries become the sole property of The Village of Rochester Hills and may be used by The Village of Rochester Hills (or its sponsors) in any medium it deems desirable now or in the future without any compensation to the Nominator or Nominee.

HOW TO WIN

1. At approximately 10:00AM EST on the second Monday of each Month up until Monday, December 13, 2021. The Village of Rochester Hills judges will review and use a random entry generator to choose a monthly Winner(s). One neighborhood hero will be chosen from all entries submitted at random each month to have the spotlight shown on them. Spotlight winners will be notified prior to the announcement to confirm details. Nominees as a Winner are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the Contest Rules. The Village of Rochester Hills will attempt to contact the Winner(s) by telephone based on the number provided in the submitted Nomination form.
2. Odds of being chosen as a winner shall depend upon the number of entries, for local neighborhood hero and schoolteachers received in the Contest.
3. All nominations submitted will be eligible until the December 13, 2021 deadline.

WINNER NOTIFICATION

1. At approximately 10:00AM EST on the second Monday of each Month up until Monday, December 13, 2021. The Village of Rochester Hills judges will review and use a random entry generator to choose a monthly Winner(s).
2. The Village of Rochester Hills will attempt to contact the Winner(s) by telephone based on the number provided in the submitted Nomination form.
3. The Village of Rochester Hills has no obligation to notify the Nominator that their Nominee was selected as a winner. The Village of Rochester Hills has the absolute and irrevocable right to notify the Nominee of the name of the Nominator who nominated him/her.
4. The Village of Rochester Hills may terminate the promotion at any time and will not be responsible for failure to supply the Prize(s) by reason of any force majeure events, such as acts of God, war, local/state/national public emergencies, pandemics, travel bans, terrorist attacks, unusually severe weather, labor strikes, or other causes beyond the control of The Village of Rochester Hills.

PRIZE ACCEPTANCE

1. Winning Nominees may be required to complete the necessary forms required by The Village of Rochester Hills prior to receiving the Prize. Winners may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility and a liability and publicity release. Winners must return all of the documents sent to them and required to be signed to The Village of Rochester Hills within 7 days of receipt. Prizes must be picked up at The Village of Rochester Hills within 30 days of the official announcement on the 21st of that month. In the event of a failure by a Nominee to accept the Prize, to collect the prize, or complete the forms by the deadline required, the Prize will not be awarded unless otherwise decided by The Village of Rochester Hills and its sole discretion on a case-by-case basis. The Village of Rochester Hills is not obligated to select replacement Nominee.
2. By accepting the Prize, the Winner and their Nominator agree to have their name, voice, likeness, biographical information, and entry materials used in any advertising or broadcasting material related to this Contest and in any media whatsoever, for any purpose whatsoever, worldwide, in perpetuity, without any further authorization or compensation to the Winner(s).
3. The Nominator is not entitled to any award or Prize in this Contest, even if their submission was selected as a winner and/or their Nominee rejects the prize, does not complete the required paperwork on time, or cannot be located.
4. The Village of Rochester Hills and its sponsors are non-assignable and nontransferable. No substitutions allowed by the winner. The Village of Rochester Hills has the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.

SOCIAL MEDIA

1. For Contests conducted or promoted on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other social media website, The Village of Rochester Hills reserves the right to void any entrant’s entry in the Contest for failure to abide by the guidelines, policies or procedures of the applicable Social Media Site, and to delete or remove any entrant’s related “Likes,” comments, posts, tweets, videos, photos, user generated content, or other electronic messages, communications, or submissions at their discretion. The Village of Rochester Hills also reserves the right to block, ignore, report, and/or completely prevent any entrant, account, user, or profile from accessing the Contest and/or The Village of Rochester Hills profile(s), account(s), website(s), blog(s) or handles. This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with the Social Media Sites.
2. By entering the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold the Social Media Sites harmless from any or all claims, liability, damages, judgements, fines, costs, expenses related to or associated with their participation in this Contest.
3. Entrants understand that by logging-in to the applicable Social Media Site, that they agree to comply with the Social Media Site’s Terms and Service and that their personal information is subject to the Privacy Policies and information collection practices of the Social Media Site.
4. Entrants agree that The Village of Rochester Hills is not responsible for the collection, disclosure, transfer, or dissemination of their personal information, whether directly or indirectly, by third party advertisers, marketers, or any other transferees.
