Take a selfie at the Village of Rochester Hills. It can be anywhere! Your favorite restaurant. Your favorite store. Or even your favorite outdoor feature. We just have to be able to tell you are at the Village! Post the photo on Instagram and use @thevorh and #loveyourselfie…and you could win $25 gift card to the Village. Enter as many times as you like and remember, creativity is key!

It's that time of the year again...Spring is almost here! And the Village is looking for some great photos to be shared with us on our Facebook page. Share with the community and “dinner is on us” for three lucky families!

Every year the Village brings to you a free, unique opportunity to visit the Bunny with your family and friends...but we rarely get to see the photos. This year we are going to get selfish and ask you to share.

You can post about your experience, your favorite thing that happened while you were visiting or simply upload your photo (which is what we prefer!) If you post your photo on our Facebook page, in the comments section of each event date, you will have the opportunity to win dinner for four at Noodles and Company in the Village! It is that easy! So please share! You have three chances; Sunday, Friday or Saturday.

All photos and memoirs need to be posted by April 17, 2017 to be entered into the drawing.

The Village of Rochester Hills and Girl Scout Troop 70430 is excited to announce the dedication of a Little Free Library on October 1, 2016 from 3-5pm.

The Girl Scout Troop has been together since 2009 and is comprised of 7th graders from Van Hoosen and Shrine schools and is based out of Oakland Township. Sydney Buchanan, Jillian Carosella, Caroline Herman, and Haley Smith along with Troop Leader, Krista Herman, came to the management of the Village of Rochester Hills in early July presenting the troops desire to complete their Silver Awards Project in partnership with the Village.girls and display

“We wanted to pick a location that families gather and that the Troop likes to go on a regular basis. It actually was a no-brainer as we all agreed from the beginning the Village was our first choice,” stated Troop Leader Herman. After presenting the idea to management, it was approved and the job of raising money began.

The girls came out to a Village summer movie and sold water as their first fundraiser and were presented with Cornerstone Community Financial committed to match whatever they made that night! Thanks to CCF, they were able to order their library the next week!

October 1st from 3-5pm we will be throwing an “Oh the Places You’ll Go” party to dedicate the new Little Free Library and celebrate with the community. There will be a craft for the kids to make, some refreshments provided by the Troop and different authors conducting story times of their own books. Meet us by the Fountain in Fountain Park. And please bring books to donate as there will be a drawing to win two Dr. Seuss gift bags!

Join us for this family fun day!

We are in search of local authors that want to be a part of this event by donating one of their books to get the library started. We are looking for both children, young adult and adult books. If you are interested in donating and being a part of our event, please email mchale@rbaikens.com with the subject: LOCAL AUTHOR.

It is that time again! Ghosts, goblins and fun at the Village…but always with a community purpose.

October 28th from 5-8pm the Village will host their annual Halloween at the Village. This is a family event that helps feed those less fortunate in our immediate area. It is all about “neighbors helping neighbors” as we raise money and gather food for our local families in need.

This year we are again teaming up with the Neighborhood House. We are asking that each child donate $5 or bring 5 non-perishable items as their entrance into all the activities. 100% of the money donated will be given to the charity and Cornerstone Community Financial has committed to matching the funds during the event! In addition, CCF has graciously sponsored the event to bring the community the following great activities:

Remember to bring either your monetary donation or food donation, as this is your ticket to participate!

There is quite a bit of hype these days about “all things Detroit.” The Village has even welcomed a Detroit-based store called Metro D  Store to our line-up to show our Detroit Love. Now we want to host an event that brings some of the Michigan-favorites right to the Village, and Faygo® is going to lead the quest for family fun!

October 14th from 3-8pm join us for a day of Michigan fun. We are asking the community to bring non-persishable food items.

Faygo® will be onsite passing out FREE, yes free Faygo®. Plus, the latest Faygo® candle will be released that day…Cotton Candy. You can smell it, but it cannot be eaten! In addition, Detroit Bike’s will be showcasing their Faygo® Bikes at the event.

Funyasa (Family-Vinyasa) will take place in Festival Park from 6:30-7:30pm with Tina Pautz. Come and do yoga as an entire family! Please bring canned goods or non-perishable food items as your payment to participate.

Food trucks are the latest craze in Detroit, and we will have a couple onsite to get in on the fun too! Cool Jack’s will have Faygo® inspired ice cream and cookies for the event. Marconi’s will have their pizza truck onsite for the dinner rush.

Join us for some good ole Detroit inspired fun!

Saturday, September 17th from 10am-1pm we will be turning the VillageTealto raise awareness for Ovarian Cancer.

"Little is known by the public about ovarian cancer.  Because there is no routine screening, it is so important to know the symptoms," stated local survivor and co-organizer, Michelle Shepherd.  "It is just a fun day for the whole family where we will share what to look for and how to be aware for earlier detection. This year we celebrate five years doing this great event for the community."
