History has a tendency to repeat itself. So do fashion trends, as any student-of-style will attest. They'll also advise you to lovingly store your clothes because, inevitably, what was cool will be cool again. Maintaining a fashion archive is an impractical option for most of us. While today's greatest designers often reference fashion's past, they also reinterpret previous trends in fresh ways. Spring 2014 is overflowing with "inspired" looks, but they've all been overhauled and reinvented...with a twist.
