What exactly is Earth Day? Is it really worth celebrating? Ask your children if they know what it is and if they say "no" or "I don't know" make it your goal to teach them this year. Earth Day is a day that the Village of Rochester Hills likes to celebrate each year. There is a history and a commitment to our community that we take very seriously.
Earth Day is April 22, 2012 - all day! Earth Day started during the era of hippies, free love and anti-war movements in 1970. It was started to preserve the natural resources and beauty of our earth and to make the earth a better place to live and raise our families (this is a shortened description of what you can find on the internet). The Village plans to do their part on Earth Day 2012 with several events for our community. Will you be there with your family and get involved?
Our children are all winners!

It's an impossible decision to choose a Bunny photo from the many that were posted on our Facebook page... Have you browsed through them? Did you seen all of the children that are screaming? Nervous? And of course thrilled to be sitting next to the bunny himself? We, the Village, take pride in making this experience memorable and special for all of you. Getting to actually see all of the faces makes it special for us, too!
This shows us how unique each child is, and how committed our parents are to giving their little one's a great Bunny experience. Sharing this joy with the community gives others the opportunity to see the smiles and sparkle in their eyes! Thank you!

2012 Easter Bunny Photo Contest Winner
As promised, we've chosen one photo as the winner of a $50 gift certificate for dinner at the Village. This was not an easy task! We've decided to have an ongoing Bunny "contest" for all of you that took part in posting your photos. If you posted your photo by Easter Sunday, you will get first dibs on seeing the Bunny next year. Yes, you and your children will get to line up before the bunny is officially open to the public! This will happen on the weekend before Easter on March 23, 2013 from 10-11am. All you have to do is email us your name, children's names and ages and let us know you want in. Please put "Easter Bunny 2013" in the subject line and send to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
