Coined the unofficial "downtown" of Rochester Hills, The Village of Rochester Hills is an outdoor retail and lifestyle center that welcomes the Metro Detroit community and visitors from around the world to shop, dine and relax at our 375,000-square-foot district.

Light the Village

The Village of Rochester Hills, metropolitan Detroit’s premier outdoor lifestyle shopping and dining destination, is once again kicking off the most wonderful time of the year on Friday, November 20, 2026 with their annual Light The Village holiday celebration. The 375,000 square foot outdoor shopping center will be covered with over 800,000 dazzling-colored lights and offer an evening of family-fun entertainment.
Special emcee for the evening will be Jay Towers, Morning Show anchor on WJBK-TV (FOX) 2 and host of “Jay Towers in the Morning” on WNIC-FM 100.3, Detroit's Christmas station. The event will delight folks of all ages and include holiday music and entertainment, delicious food, a spectacular fireworks display, and Santa Claus’s first appearance for 2026!

Ho, ho, ho! Get ready for holiday cheer at The Village of Rochester Hills! Bring the whole family to meet Santa Claus in his cozy winter setup, perfect for snapping those magical Christmas photos. Bring your camera. Free for all ages.
Afteward, stroll through our charming outdoor mall, twinkling with festive lights, and explore our delightful shops while you hunt for unique gifts that’ll make everyone’s season bright. Hungry? Savor seasonal flavors, grab a sweet treat, or cozy up with coffee.

Whether once a day, once a week or once a month, we welcome walkers of all ages to follow the Village's Whistle Way One-Mile course as you enjoy the open-air space and explore the shops and restaurants at The Village of Rochester Hills. You can bring your stroller and even your four-legged friend too! (Remember some baggies in case your pup does some business!)
